The title will be available this June 17 exclusively for Nintendo 3DS.

In December 1998, arrived ‘The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time”, a game created by the genius Shigeru Miyamoto. When the title came to light it meant a revolution. The complexity of the story, the depth of the characters, the movements and fighting system and above all freedom, made the game to be recognized by critics and players as one of the best ever.

The saga ‘Zelda’ has had new releases in all Nintendo consoles, but the company has decided to release ‘Ocarina of Time’ for the debut of Link in the new Nintendo 3DS. The Nintendo press officer explained, that “Miyamoto has not been able to resist watching Hyrule in 3D.” The Japanese had the dream of seeing one of his most iconic Nintendo characters make the leap to 3D and the 3DS has helped him realize his dream.

The new ‘The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D’ has been adapted to 3D glasses-free  possibilities of the new Nintendo handheld, and also presents a graphical overhaul, an adaptation of the control system and for the first time.

IN 3D BUT WITH THE ESSENCE OF THE ORIGINAL

The game developers wanted to present an adaptation of the game to fit the current capabilities, graphics and control, without abandoning the aesthetic and the original spirit of the title.

The first aspect that highlights the game is to adapt it to see a link in 3 dimensions. ‘The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D’ has been redesigned to take advantage of 3D capabilities of the Nintendo console. Users will find a depth in the levels and action that takes the game to another level compared to the original edition.

3D gaming of the title is a totally new experience. Players can explore all grasslands of Hyrule, investigate all dungeons and fight the most fearsome monsters in 3D environments never before seen in the saga. As always, players who do not want the 3D effect they can removed it from the game.

The 3D adaptation is not the only  graphical overhaul featuring ‘The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D’. The developers have refined the graphics to give a more updated look to the title. Nintendo has said that this redefinition of the graphics is to try not to change the perception of users who played the original Nintendo 64 game.

ADAPTING TO THE POSSIBILITIES OF CONTROL OF NINTENDO 3DS

The new ‘The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D’ also has developments in the control system in regards to the original title. In this sense, the game adapts to the tactile possibilities, the two screens and movement recognition of the Nintendo mobile.

The gameplay screen is displayed on the top main screen and development of action of the title. The bottom screen is used to show all kinds of game information. In this screen, players can see a map of the areas where they are and can allocate objects to buttons or even change from one object to another just by touching it.

Since Nintendo has confirmed that this adaptation is a major improvement on the original game. Users will have available game information more quickly with this system that can be very useful at certain stages of the game.

In addition to this adaptation,  Nintendo also explained that the next update of Nintendo 3DS will involve multitasking in ‘The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D’ it will allow users to access the notepad to write anything without closing the game or even find solutions to puzzles on the internet. In all these cases, the bottom screen will allow these activities while the action continues on the top screen.

The new ‘The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D’ also uses the capabilities of the gyroscope which is included in the Nintendo console. The players may change the subjective view of Link by moving the console, which recognizes the position and movements of users. This tool is also used when Link uses weapons like the bow. Players can aim by moving the console, honing their marksmanship in the game through the actual motions.

Nintendo has thought of everything, and more traditional players who when in tight places, will have the choice of motion recognition or disable it.
